“The Importance & Power of Faith”

FOCUS

“Faith is fools gold. Wishful thinking has nothing to do at all with whatever reality really is in any way whatsoever. Faith is what children play with, reason is what adults win with.” Or something like that :-) …

Cynical skeptics & noisy unbelievers may try to dismiss the reality of faith’s power & presence in the lives of those who have embraced faith’s power & presence, but, when all is said & done, faith in who God is & what God can do is one of the most rational things a person can embrace. All that has been & currently is constantly & consistently comes together to give us great faith in who God is & what He will do.

Faith …

1. is being confident of what can be while affirming what can’t be seen.

Not yet accomplished doesn’t mean impossible & invisible doesn’t mean nonexistent.

Hebrews 11:1ff / Hebrews 12:1-3

2. is the key to being saved by, secure in & effective for God.

It’s not wishful thinking as much as rational believing in who God is & what He can do.

Ephesians 2:8 Philippians 1:6 Matthew 17:14-20 (esp v20) / James 5:13-18 (esp vs15 & 16)

Making It Real

1] Does it comfort you to know faith transcends the physical world & realm?

2] Do you continue to experience these three expressions of authentic Christianity?

Action Step

If you haven’t yet done so, memorize 1 Corinthians 13:13 & Hebrews 11:1.
